Sleep WorrierTonight: Permission to Rest

You find yours in the first minute. It decides which tool you start with, and the order of your program.

Two kinds of help.

Tonight · minutes

Quiet the mind, now.

Tap the orb. The screen dims to near-black and a voice does the rest. It feels like a pain reliever.

The Reset · 6 weeks

Break the loop that keeps bad nights going.

One small step a day retrains the habits that taught your brain bed means thinking. It feels like physical therapy.

Five tools. One orb.

Audio-led, eyes closed, 3 to 20 minutes, ending in a slow fade. No “good job” at the end.

  1. 01

    Mind Drift

A calm voice names simple, neutral things every 12–15 seconds. You just picture them.

    Imagery distraction
  2. 02

    Park It

Type what's on your mind. Each thought floats into a glass box marked for the morning.

    To-do offloading
  3. 03

    Let It Pass

The thought becomes a cloud and drifts off while Mo guides: “I'm noticing the thought that…”

    Defusion, from ACT
  4. 04

    Permission to Rest

Your only job is to rest, not to sleep. Effort out, sleep in.

    Paradoxical intention
  5. 05

    Breathe

The orb grows and softens at five or six breaths a minute. Haptics follow the breath.

    Relaxation

Still awake? Get up with Mo.

Five to ten minutes out of bed, somewhere cozy, lights low. Back when you're sleepy. Mo goes by how you feel, never by the clock.

The Reset.

42 steps, one a day, about two minutes each. Learn something, then do one small thing. Miss a day and nothing is lost.

  1. Week 1Learn your nightsTired vs sleepy
  2. Week 2Rebuild sleep driveMeet your Sleep Window
  3. Week 3Retrain your bedGetting up isn't giving up
  4. Week 4Quiet the worrySet your Worry Window
  5. Week 5Rethink sleepFlip the myth: “I need 8 hours”
  6. Week 6Keep itBuild your toolkit

Fifteen seconds each morning.

Turn the night dial, tap two chips, pick a moon. That's your sleep diary.

Then, in week 2, your Sleep Window.

Time in bed, gently matched to the sleep you actually get, so bed means sleep again. It is the part of CBT-I that does the most, so it comes with rules:

  • Never shorter than 5½ hours.
  • Never shortened without your OK.
  • Widen it or pause it in one tap, any time.
  • Not offered if your answers suggest it isn't safe for you.

What you won't find.

  • A sleep score
  • Streaks to lose
  • Countdowns
  • “You failed”
  • A 100-track sound library
  • A chatbot

Sleep isn't a test. The goal is a calmer bedtime, even on nights you don't open the app.

Mo has sleepless nights too.

A soft, slightly worn fabric doll with tired eyes and a small moon on its chest. Mo is learning alongside you. Never a coach, never a judge. Over six weeks the moon gets a little brighter. That's all.

Honest science

Built on CBT-I.

Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia is the approach sleep doctors recommend first for long-term insomnia (American College of Physicians, 2016; American Academy of Sleep Medicine, 2021). MoSleep teaches its skills and habits in small daily steps.

MoSleep is a wellness app, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything, and we say where the evidence for a technique is thin.

Questions.

Why does my brain switch on the moment I lie down?

Often it's learned. After enough nights spent awake and frustrated in bed, the brain starts to link bed with thinking. MoSleep gives you calm tools for tonight, and a 6-week program that retrains that link one small step a day.

Is MoSleep a sleep tracker?

No. There's no sleep score, no stages and no streaks. A 15-second morning check-in is the only thing it asks for, and it shows progress as a constellation of nights rather than a grade.

What is CBT-I, and is MoSleep therapy?

CBT-I (cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia) is the approach sleep doctors recommend first for long-term insomnia. MoSleep is built on its principles: a sleep diary, a gentle sleep window, retraining the bed–sleep link, and working with worries and beliefs about sleep. It isn't therapy and doesn't replace a clinician.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. You tell MoSleep roughly when you went to bed and got up. If you use Apple Health, it can prefill that for you — optional, and only if you allow it.

Is MoSleep free?

Free gives you real relief tonight: your Mind Type, Breathe without limits, your own tool for three nights, morning check-ins, and the first three steps of the Reset. Premium unlocks every tool, Get Up with Mo, all 42 steps, your Sleep Window, full progress and your toolkit. Premium is a subscription (yearly with a 7-day free trial, monthly or weekly) or a one-time lifetime purchase; prices are shown in the app.

Is the Sleep Window safe?

It's the gentlest version we could design. It never drops below 5½ hours, it's never shortened without your OK, and you can widen or pause it in one tap. It isn't offered if you tell us about loud snoring or gasping, bipolar disorder or seizures, pregnancy, shift work, or nodding off while driving. If you're very sleepy in the day, please don't drive.
