Privacy Policy

Your nights, and what's on your mind at 1 a.m., are sensitive. This policy explains exactly what MoSleep keeps, what leaves your phone, and why.

Updated 2026-10-18

This policy covers the MoSleep iPhone app and this website, operated by Ant Intellect (“we”, “us”). Questions: khangruni@gmail.com.

The short version

  • Your check-ins, sessions, program progress and onboarding answers are stored on your iPhone.
  • What you type into Park It stays on your phone unless you choose to sync it. What you type into Let It Pass isn't saved at all.
  • We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.
  • No microphone, no audio recording, no location.
  • You don't need to give us your name or email. You get an anonymous account ID.
  • You can export everything or delete everything from Settings.

1. Data stored on your iPhone

The app keeps the following in its private storage on your device:

  • Onboarding answers: your Mind Type, how long it usually takes you to fall asleep, your usual night, how often bad nights happen, habits you picked, your wake-up time, and your answers to the safety check.
  • Morning check-ins: when you got into and out of bed, time-to-fall-asleep and time-awake ranges, and how bedtime felt (calm, okay or hard).
  • Sessions: which tool you used, for how long, and, if you rated it, how loud your mind felt before and after (0–10).
  • Park It: the thoughts you park. Seen thoughts are cleared automatically after 14 days.
  • Program: steps you completed, your Sleep Window, your toolkit, and your reminder settings.

Delete it any time with Settings → Delete my data, or export it with Settings → Export my data.

2. Optional backup

If you link an Apple or Google account (Settings → Account), the data in section 1 is backed up privately to your account in Google Firebase so you can restore it on a new phone. Park It text is left out of the backup unless you turn on Sync parked thoughts. Only you can read your backup. Deleting your data in the app also deletes the backup.

3. Apple Health

Apple Health is optional and never requested during onboarding. If you connect it, MoSleep reads Sleep Analysis to prefill your morning check-in, and writes Mindful Minutes when you finish a session. Health data is never sent to our servers or to any third party, and never used for advertising, marketing or data mining. The bed and wake times you confirm in a check-in become part of your diary (section 1). Revoke access any time in the Settings app → Health → Data Access & Devices.

4. Data that leaves your phone

We use these service providers. Each receives only what is listed.

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)

  • Account: a random anonymous ID is created when you first open the app. If you link Apple or Google, that provider shares the email address you allow.
  • Account record: install date, first-open time, when you finished onboarding, your Mind Type, which A/B test variants you see, and whether you have Premium (plan, renewal and expiry dates, store).
  • Usage analytics: events about how the app is used, such as screens viewed, sessions started and finished, steps completed, and paywall views. Some events carry simple answers, such as your Mind Type or how bedtime felt (calm, okay or hard). Events never include anything you type, and safety answers are only ever sent as a count, never individually. Analytics also receives standard device information (model, OS version, language, approximate country).
  • Crash reports: technical details about crashes, to fix bugs.
  • Remote Config: used to assign A/B test variants.

RevenueCat

Processes in-app purchases for us. It receives your anonymous ID, your App Store purchase history, and the paywall variant you saw. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple.

Attribution (only with your permission)

The app may include Adjust and Meta SDKs to measure whether our ads lead to installs and purchases. They only use your advertising identifier if you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Sleep, mood, safety and Health data are never shared with them.

Apple

Purchases, subscriptions and refunds are processed by Apple. Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your phone; we don't run a push server.

5. Consumer health data

Some of what MoSleep stores (sleep timing, how bedtime felt, safety answers) may count as consumer health data under laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act. We collect it only to provide the features you use, we don't sell it, and we don't share it except with the processors above acting on our behalf. You can access, export or delete it as described in section 8.

6. This website

This site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser) for security. Fonts may load from Google Fonts. We don't run advertising trackers here.

7. Why we use data

  • To provide the app and your purchases.
  • To understand and improve the app, fix crashes and run A/B tests (our legitimate interests).
  • For ad attribution, only with your consent.

We don't use your data for profiling or automated decisions about you.

8. Your choices and rights

  • Export or delete your data: Settings → Export my data / Delete my data.
  • Change your safety answers any time: Settings → Safety answers.
  • Revoke Apple Health, notifications or tracking in the iPhone Settings app.
  • Ask us to access, correct or delete the account record held by our providers: khangruni@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, CCPA or state health-data laws), you may have further rights, including to complain to your data protection authority.

9. Retention

On-device data stays until you delete it. Backups are deleted when you delete your data. The account record is kept while you use the app and deleted on request. Analytics follows our providers' retention settings (by default up to 14 months for Firebase Analytics).

10. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries, under safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

11. Children

MoSleep is for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will delete the related record.

12. Security

Data on your phone is protected by iOS. Data sent to our providers is encrypted in transit, and backups can only be read by your account. We collect as little as possible, so there's little to protect.

13. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
